For Germany, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the value on Friday morning as 318.7. According to the RKI, Schleswig-Holstein continues to have the highest incidence among the federal states. In no other country is it over 500.
However, the incidence does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation: experts assume that there are a large number of cases that are not recorded there – mainly because by far not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations – for example after the long Pentecost weekend – or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual values.
3,628 new corona cases were reported for Schleswig-Holstein on Friday. According to the information, 208 Covid patients were treated in the hospitals, 8 more than the day before. There were 16 corona patients (minus 4) in the intensive care unit – 8 of them were still being ventilated.
The total number of people who have died in connection with a corona infection since the beginning of the pandemic in the country rose again by 5 to 2568. The number of corona sufferers admitted to hospitals per 100,000 inhabitants within a week – the hospitalization incidence – fell slightly to 3.50 on Friday.
The districts of Rendsburg-Eckernförde (738.8) and Segeberg (645.3) and the city of Lübeck (601.4) reported the highest seven-day incidences. The district of Duchy of Lauenburg recorded the lowest incidence with a value of 491.1.
