The prequel to the film series “The Panem Tributes” will be shot in the greater Duisburg area from mid-August. For “The Hunger Games: The Song of the Bird and Snake” based on the bestseller by Suzanne Collins, around 3,000 extras are now being sought to work in front of the camera for up to eight days of shooting.

The agency Eick invites you to a free online casting. At https://www.panem-casting.de you can enter your data and upload two current photos (portrait and full body). Applications can be submitted from now until August 8th.

“Invited are people of all ethnicities and backgrounds as well as all genders and gender identities, aged 8 to 80 years,” said Gregor Weber, co-owner of the Eick agency. “Since many of these individuals are cast as Panem residents, a natural and expressive look is a must.”

Visibly dyed or highlighted hair is unsuitable, as is permanent make-up, solarium tan, fixed braces, tunnel earrings, piercings and tattoos on visible parts of the body. Applicants should also be willing to have their hair cut if necessary. For some scenes you also need extras who have their hair shaved off. Likewise, some people with basic military training would be wanted.

A large part of the population in the totalitarian state of Panem is also described in the book as severely malnourished. “That’s why we focus primarily on very slim and thin body types,” said Weber. “In addition, many young adults who are at least 17 years old but look younger are wanted. Applications from people with physical disabilities, including those with visible scars or amputations, are very welcome.»

The costume and mask rehearsals take place from mid-July to mid-August, also in Duisburg. All participants are tested for Corona before their assignments and must comply with the usual hygiene rules at the film location.

According to earlier reports, the film is set to hit theaters in November 2023. The four films so far have grossed around three billion dollars worldwide from 2012 to 2015. The new story takes place 64 years before the previous events. The US actress and singer Rachel Zegler (“West Side Story”) and the British Tom Blyth (“Scott and Sid”) are planned to play the main roles.
